IB Vision

IB Vision is a student organisation that deals with all student activities which are directly concerned with the BSc International Business degree programme. Our aim is to promote our degree programme with all-round student commitment and we work in close cooperation with the degree programme coordinators.

For instance, we are involved in the organisation of our introductory week at the beginning of the semester, are actively engaged in the marketing of our degree programme and enhance the team spirit of current as well as former IB students with our events.

With 14 departments in which around 100 IB students are involved every semester, we are one of the largest student organisations at Reutlingen University.

Students can get an idea of our Departments at the beginning of every semester and find out about the different fields of activity. By getting involved, our IB Vision members have the opportunity to work in dynamic teams on projects that relate directly to their course and also get the chance as heads of departments to take responsibility for a project.

Our IB Vision Head Team coordinates the activities of IB Vision and creates the necessary conditions for ensuring that the IB Vision Departments work successfully. In the following we will present the functions of the Head Team and provide details of our individual departments.

The most recent updates of IB Vision can be found on Instagram.

Further, the Strategy Leaders negotiate with ESB’s school board a budget which they manage and distribute to the departments. The Strategy Leaders are also required to play an active part in optimizing internal processes and in the professionalization of the degree program and in developing new, innovative projects.

Practical Business Studies Department

The Practical Business Studies Department helps our students share experiences about their internship semester. The Department organizes a presentation day at which all IB students who have returned from the practical phase present their internship, in this way inspiring students from lower semesters and providing them with useful insights for finding an internship.

Study Abroad Department

Skype presentations are held for students who are interested in the unique fast-track option. They have the possibility to get into contact with those who have chosen this option and are currently doing their master’s degree at a partner university abroad. Students have the opportunity to meet each other in a relaxed atmosphere and to exchange information about life at our partner universities.

On the other hand, the Lunch Abroad is a big event that is organised every semester where information about our 50+ partner universities of the IB degree programme is provided. The event is organised as a poster fair and is presented by exchange student from the partner universities and includes Skype presentations of the different partner universities for master’s degrees. Heads of Social Engagement

Creating a community by encouraging domestic, international students to interact with each other in ongoing cooperation which is characterized by means of mutual respect, responsibility, action, and commitment. IB Vision’s Heads of Social Engagement are responsible for three departments: Volunteering, Living and Learning and Integration events.
Their role is to manage each of the departments, set semesterly goals with the teams and lead the way to achievement of these goals.

International Living and Learning

The International Living and Learning Department supports the project of the same name with which, ideally, a flat is found and rented every semester in which IB first semester students can live. This not only saves the selected students the difficult task of finding somewhere to live but they are also offered a unique, international living environment in which the students can learn a lot from each other.

Sustainability Department

The Sustainability Department aims at creating a more sustainable campus and bringing students together. Ideally, the IB Vision departments pursue a more sustainable and future oriented focus and help make our planet a little bit greener one step at a time.

The department organizes various get-together and welcome events, such as bowling, barbecue or campfires.

Volunteering Committee

The volunteering department is new in IB Vision and works together with the NGO Inkawasi in Peru. The Department raises money by collaborating with other departments and organizing different events like waffle or cake sales. At the same time the committee tries to raise awareness and support towards children in need from all over the world. This way we give students the opportunity to get directly involved in social activities despite their busy studies.

Corona Support Department

The Corona Support is responsible for providing up-to-date information on test centres, vaccination centres, and news regarding COVID-19 regulations at Reutlingen University. Furthermore, it serves as a help centre for students struggling with motivation and those who would just like to talk about issues with another student.

The pandemic has taken a toll on everyone, but international students are affected especially. Therefore, the Corona Support is also responsible for providing any aid required by students returning or arriving from abroad who may need to quarantine (e.g. help with groceries).
