BSc Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen - Operations

Professor Doctor Dirk Schieborn

"With a B.Sc. in International Business and Engineering – Operations, all doors are open to you – whether in medium-sized companies or global corporations. During your studies, you will already work in small groups with state-of-the-art technology. An integrated semester abroad completes our international profile, as well as the possibility of an internship abroad."

Prof. Dr Dirk Schieborn, Programme Director Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen – Operations

Why study BSc Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen - Operations (IWI)?

because you are fascinated by the combination of technology and aspects of corporate and business management: In the B.Sc. programme in International Business and Engineering – Operations you will do an interdisciplinary course and gain key knowledge in business and engineering.

… because after graduating in industrial engineering you would like to be equally attractive to globally operating and medium-sized companies.

because you would like to study in an international context: From the third semester onwards, most lectures are held in English. You will spend one semester at one of our prestigious partner universities and, if you wish, spend the integrated internship semester abroad.

because you would like to do a course with a practical orientation: During the integrated internship semester you will gain wide-ranging real-world experience and during the practical and interdisciplinary modules, labs, case studies and simulations you will also learn to work in teams.

because you are excited about working with technologies from the fields of digitisation, automation or Industry 4.0. At Werk150 – the innovative training, research and development factory on the campus of Reutlingen University, you will link these with real-world industrial engineering.

because you are fascinated by designing and optimising production and logistics processes – both from a technological perspective and from an economic perspective.

… because you would like to develop your personal and social potential during your studies through project and team work, through experience abroad and in practice, and not least through the community on campus.

because you value good personal support from the lecturers: In laboratories, projects and simulations, you will be closely supported and tutored by our lecturers. We also consider it important to have small groups with a good staff-student ratio in the lecture rooms.

because you already want to get in contact with companies during your studies: ESB Business School and its teaching staff cultivate intensive contacts with companies and make intensive use of this practical experience.

Speaking of which: What does the addition “operations” mean in the name of the degree programme? The term “operations” is very broad and refers to all activities that occur in a company in connection with the production of goods and services. With this addition to the name, we make clear that our degree programme is broadly based and is not limited to a particular sector or industry.
